Genesis for desktop
Make and play Genesis games on Windows.
Genesis Launcher installs two desktop apps and keeps them up to date: Genesis Creator for making games and Genesis Play for playing them. Both use your Genesis account.
Three apps
- Genesis Launcher installs Genesis Creator and Genesis Play, keeps itself and both apps up to date, and shows what is new in Genesis.
- Genesis Creator is for making games: the editor, projects, assets, documents and the community, in its own window. It has everything Genesis offers except playing published games.
- Genesis Play is for playing: browse and rate games, follow people and keep up with the community. Games you download can be played offline.
Install
Download and run the Genesis Launcher installer. Then install Genesis Creator, Genesis Play or both from the Launcher. Creator and Play are installed only from the Launcher, and it keeps them updated.
Your account
Genesis is in private preview, so the apps need an invited Genesis account. Creator and Play sign in to the same account as the website and show the same projects, games and people. The desktop apps are optional: apart from offline play, everything they do also works in a browser.
